Going on day trips to the British seaside or visiting family and friends was extremely popular, growing up in 1960s Nottingham. For many families, a first, and great excuse to show off their unique style of dress. The picture captures three peaceful confident People of Colour hanging out on a bench outside an ice cream parlour.
